Electric Arc Smelter
Lekon's smelting facility operates two DC Electric Arc Furnaces in Riga, with the purpose of precious metals reclamation.
Precious metals containing material such as spent catalyst are feed into the furnace bath, where it is being heated to temperatures range 1,500 to 1,600 degrees by electric arc.
Precious Metals are recovered as a concentrated metal alloy, which is ready for further refining in our facility.
PRECIOUS METALS REFINERY
This part of our facility recovers precious metals from concentrates and other high grade materials.
This flexible and reliable Hydro-metallurgical facility operates technologically advanced process to separate and purify Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, Gold and Silver.
A custom made glass-lined reactors, electrolysis processes and induction furnace provides Lekon ability to accept a wide range of materials and provide a low cost service.
We also conduct extensive research and development programs of the refining processes, in order to make our operations more efficient.
Refinery in Riga is audited and certified by the Latvian Environment Agency, in accordance to European Regulations.
Laboratory
Lekon operates laboratory which analyze all incoming materials, recovered metals and also control quality of the recovery process and environmental impact.
There are three general types of assays that are conducted on a daily basis:
Lot assay:
Determination of the precious metal content of the incoming material. These results are basis for customer account settlements and billing.
Product assay:
Determining impurities in refined metals and control quality of manufactured products. Results are used for purity certification of the recovered metals and product quality.
Operational assay:
We control quality of the slag, solutions, waste waters, physical factors of the working environment and all intermediate materials that are generated during recovery process. Those results are also helping us to develop best possible recovery process for new types of material.
Sampling
The purpose of this crucial process is to recover representative sample of all incoming materials.
Our sampling is based on organic, environmental friendly processes and optimized to maximum efficiency.
Trustful relations are secured by a special rule, collected sample is divided into three parts: — first part is for Lekon's laboratory — second is passed to customer or independent representative for further assaying — third sample is kept sealed for umpire assay purpose, whenever deemed necessary.
All sampling operations are conducted in compliance with independent assayers or customer's representative.

Manufacturing
The manufacturing facility is part of Lekon's strategy of generating extra revenue by adding value to the recovered metals.
Our semi-finished precious metals products include alloys, wires, sheets, solutions and many more.

We have a dedicated shipping team, which handles all Lekon's customer logistics needs.
